Shomang Construction formerly known as Sunrise Electrical is a family owned business in Johannesburg and was founded in 1996 by husband and wife Morris and Mapula Ramatapa. They had a strong desire to better their communities and bring forth change in South Africa through the construction industry. The very first project that Shomang Construction embarked on was that of a primary school, which spearheaded the company into the construction industry.
Over the past 25 years the company has gained a reputable status that has seen Shomang develop and grow into a company that offers electrical, building and civil services to government schools, clinic, prisons, libraries, community halls and other infrastructure.
The company is 100% black owned and managed and is a level 2 BBBEE contributor. We are registered with the CIDB as a level 8GPE (General Building), 8CE PE (Civil Engineering), 6EB PE and 7EB PE. The company has a good standing with the Electrical Contracting Board and the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC).
